Right-Hander Named California League Pitcher Of The Week
 Dave McKae went 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA in two starts during the week of April 16-22 (photo by Barry Colla) | SAN JOSE, CALIF April 23, 2007– San Jose Giants starting pitcher Dave McKae has been named California League Pitcher of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 22. In two starts last week, McKae went 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA notching victories over the Modesto Nuts and Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. The 25-year old right-hander worked a total of 12 2/3 innings and allowed just one run and nine hits. McKae walked only two batters while striking out 13.
McKae, who signed as a non-drafted free agent with the San Francisco Giants in 2005, owns a 2-1 record and 1.59 ERA in four starts this season. His earned run average is tied for sixth lowest in the league while his 25 strikeouts are tied with teammate Joe Martinez for second most.
The award is the first for a San Jose player during the 2007 season.
The Giants are currently in first place in the North Division with a 14-4 record and begin a three-game series at Lancaster Tuesday night.
